Depot Express in Alexandria

Went there on a Saturday night for the prime rib special. My husband said it was cooked perfectly. I had the peel and eat shrimp . Also done perfectly. Salad bar was fresh, service was great. Definitely will be back

I liked it our server was hustling and did a great job. We were there on a Friday night in July and sat inside although the outside patio area would have been the choice looking over the lake. Food was good and it is priced about where you'd think it would be. Nice little super club kind of feel with a bar on one end and the restaurant on hthe other.

Service was great. Salad bar was ok, soup unidentifiable.

This place is okay. Kinda a hole in the wall bar.

The server must had been new with no training (not his fault). We ordered the sampler basket with cocktail sauce but didn't get it until the basket was almost gone because the server disappeared. I ordered the walleye that had a choice in how it was cooked but he never asked. When our food was brought out my walleye was cold. The best part was the bar. $2 drinks. I won't be back

Good food, quick excellent service.

Great pizza and great prices.Fridays & Saturdays are the preferred days to come here as they have a mouth watering primerib special on those nights.Don't forget to order pop overs as they are simply amazingly awesome.

Very bad service, possibly inexperienced, but definitely not trained at all adequately.The prime rib was 1/3 pure fat.Go drinking with a buddy there, but never take a date unless she/he thinks the Holiday Station is fancy eating.On the plus side (the reason for the 2nd star), eating by the lake, watching pelicans soaring and monarchs fueling up on milkweed, is a really nice time.Please take care of the deficiencies.

I can't really remember it so it wasn't bad but not good enough to remember...

Walked in with a group of 8. No one came to seer us. There was 2 people in dining room drinking and a group of people in bar playing bingo. I looked in kitchen. No one there.stood around a wile and moved on to another restraint. Won't be back.

We went at a completely dead time (145ish on a Tuesday) and everything was slow, the wait staff, the food, the bill. Food was alright and wait staff was super nice. This could be a great spot along the water if they improved the look.

The food was soggy and gross, and the atmosphere is dingy and dark. Service took forever as well.

Chef salad not very good. Ribs and wings combo were good. Very large wings. Good service.

I like the Depot.. If they could keep staff it would be alot better. Tonight I had a 15 year old kid as my server.. he was nice, cut I wore butter out the door on my clothes thanks to him, and basically had to walk him through what he needed to do as his job, but then again, we all started somewhere.. this botched set up is directly managements fault..

Great views of Lake Agnes from the spacious patio. Friendly, speedy service. Good food!

My family has had a cabin in the area 20ish years. Haven't been to the depot in years. Decided to try them again. Friendly service. Fair prices. Nice patio seating with lakeside views. Decent walleye and tasty cheese curds. Also that popover and honey butter! Full bar with a few local beers on tap.

I was a designated driver for a group of 4 people. I was treated as if I was trying to steal soda. I feel that a designated driver should get free sodas as we are trying to make sure people stay safe and alive. Not mention this was my 2nd night in a row to be treated this way. Treating someone like a thief is not a way to make someone feel welcome I will not be back.

Ordered to go, and when I got there to pick it up I Told a waitress at the bar I was there to pick up my food. She looked at me said I’ll be right with you got herself a drink and 20 mins later I got my cold food.

Friendly wait staff. Food reasonably priced. Very good sandwich. Convenient to the downtown area of Alexandria.

Fun fact, this place has probably THE best Gluten Free pizza I've ever had. The crust has not the ordinary lame, flat, tasteless taste and texture that's synonymous with Gluten Free. The cheese is extremely fresh, sauce just sweet enough. I've stopped at this place for the first time last month have been back two other times (including the very next day after my first visit). Evidently they nail the salad bar and every other item on the menu according to my girlfriend. This place is reasonably priced too. Did I mention the Gluten Free crust is also available in their normal sized pizza, not just a dinky small/personal like most places? Yaaaaaayyyyy Depot!

Pulled pork sandwich was excellent. Fresh and good salad bar. Comfortable and relaxed atmosphere.

Hands down the best restaurant I’ve been to in a long time. Service was amazing, waiter was nice and the food came out fast. Food was well cooked and amazingly seasoned. If I ever find myself back in Alexandria I’ll definitely be stopping by. Shout out to my boy Pete for being an amazing server!

We've lived in Alexandria for two years now, and finally found the best pizza ever at the Depot! They were running a special, and we bought two, the chicken with white sauce, and the everything pizza were delicious!!

The food was AMAZING!! The service was great! My son and I definitely have made this our new favorite place to eat!

I'm sorry to say I'm not even giving this place a one star..... only because I HAD to. We arrived and got seated right away, that was the best of our experience. The waitress was fine, we went for breakfast got there at 10:30 ordered buy 10:35...breakfast is pretty easy. Took them 25 minutes to figure out they were out of biscuits. Food finally came out at 11:15, one bite and it was cold. First time in my entire life that I walked out leaving my entire plate. They also have a mini buffet that started at 11:00, 11:15 it still wasn't even ready to go. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!

This place is only a couple miles from our home. We went there because they have a all you can eat shrimp and cod with a salad bar that is the best in Alexandria. Not only did they have wild rice as part of their salad bar they had wild rice soup which was delicious. We also ordered popovers and they were some of the best also.

Food is great, service isn't. Brittney forgot to gave us salads, drink for kids, treats for kids, dessert for kids. After we spoke with manger, we still did not get salads or discount for that. Also they were out of treats for kids. No boxes offered. 20 minutes waiting for food. If I run this business, I would fire this waitress and manager too.

It was not a great experience. It took a long time to be seated. Then a long time to be waited on. We ordered half green olives on our pizza and there was maybe a total of 6 slices of olives on the whole half. The only good thing about the experience was that the pizza tasted good. We would definitely think twice about going back.

Had the lobster alfredo lunch special. It was just okay. It was bland with very little lobster.

Ribs and chicken appetizers are great. The pizza is also uniquely done and tastes excellent. Service has been very good. Received food quite fast on all visits.

Love the spaghetti Marinara and breadsticks.
